This field trip gives photographers an opportunity to exercise multiple tools in a spectacular setting.
Shark Finn Cove is 20 minutes north of Santa Cruz on Hwy 1.  There is a broad, steep beach with a cave bordered by rock cliffs.

August 17 is special because -

-  low tide is at 5:33pm
-  sunset is at 8 pm
-  the Milky Way is visible by 9:30pm
-  AND, there is No Moon

At low tide one can practice slowing wave motion over rocks with a Neutral Density (ND) filter.

Sunset is a good time for HDR.

9:30 and later is an excellent time for astrophotography as the galactic center (brightest part) of the Milky Way will have just cleared the horizon.

There will be several club members present with experience in these areas to assist the rest of us.

The Zoom pre-trip meeting will review equipment and carpool logistics:  Aug 15 at 7:30pm.

There is no limit on how many may attend.

View from the beach thru the cave.
