The Creative Side of Photography

Photographer and tour leader Betty Sederquist will give a Zoom presentation on creative photography for the Sept 20 program night.
She will demonstrate ways to enhance creativity. The first part of the program will include review of some composition basics.
Then she will show how she uses uses Photoshop, demonstrating some step-by-step creative computer techniques that go beyond reality using textures, sky replacement and painterly techniques. Like any computer techniques there are many pitfalls to avoid. Choice of photos for these sorts of creations are especially important.

Betty Sederquist has been publishing her images for decades, using photos from her library of nearly 300,000 images. She has been featured in National Geographic books, Sunset magazine and dozens more publications. She also taught photography and digital imaging for twenty years at Folsom Lake College near Sacramento. Her recent images have been showcased in the annual photo competition sponsored by the North American Nature Photographers Association. Although she photographs mostly landscapes and wildlife, she also enjoys portraiture, especially of world cultures.
